October 21-22, 2014 - Texas Junior Academy of Science

High school students make oral presentations of original research results to a panel of expert judges. A written research paper is required. Winners are invited to present their research at the AAAS Conference.


NOVEMBER 8, 2014 - Texas Science Olympiad Coaches Clinic

Texas Science Olympiad coaches are offered the opportunity to attend workshop sessions on how to prepare their teams for this year's Science Olympiad events.


December 6, 2014 - Expanding Your Horizons

This program for 6th grade girls provides them with exciting workshops that will enhance their awareness of career opportunities in science and engineering fields while interacting with female role models who are presently working as scientists and engineers.  A fun, positive experience!


January 22-24, 2015 - Texas Junior Science & Humanities Symposium

High school students make oral presentations of original research results. Students from Texas high schools are eligible once nominated by their school sponsor. First- and second-place winners receive a scholarship and win an expense-paid trip to present his/her paper at the National JSHS; three runners-up will also receive an expense-paid trip to the National Symposium to attend as observers.


FEBRUARY 7, 2015 - Texas A&M Regional Science Bowl

High schools within the region may send teams to this regional competition featuring a fast-paced format based on knowledge of science facts. The winning team of this quiz-show style competition receives an expense-paid trip to the National Science Bowl competition.


February 21, 2015 - Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Conference

Participants are primarily women graduate students in science and engineering fields. The conference provides a forum for the exchange of information on the challenges women face in preparing for and pursuing successful careers in science and engineering.

April 24-25, 2015 - Texas Science Olympiad

This exciting team competition covers diverse areas of science and engineering and features 28 different events in two age divisions -- B-division (6th through 9th grades) and C-division (9ththrough 12th grades). Events include academic competitions, such as Chemistry Lab, Dynamic Planet, Science Crime Busters, and Entomology, and hands-on building and engineering events, such as Bridge Building, Elastic Launch Glider, Scrambler, and Robo Cross. The overall slate offers something guaranteed to capture the imagination of all youngsters!
