Question: At what time is registration on Friday April 25th?
Answer: Check-in begins at 9 am on Friday, the 25th and you can find links to complete schedules from the Texas Science Olympiad homepage http://outreach.science.tamu.edu/scienceolympiad.asp Links for division schedules can be found on the left of the screen.
Question: Are the events the same as the regional competition?
Answer: A complete list of State events are posted at: http://outreach.science.tamu.edu/tso/2008/08events.php and you pick 23 of these events prior to competing.
Question: How many coaches can we have for our team?
Answer: You can have as many coaches as you like but only one is the Primary Coach for which all correspondence comes to.
Question: What are the Payments/Fees for State Qualifying Teams?
Answer: The entry fees were paid when you registered – it was part of the original fee to enter the Texas Olympiad.
Question: Is room and board included?
Answer: No – travel and accommodations is the responsibility of the team.
Question: Are there any registration forms that need to be submitted?
Answer: There are several forms that need to be submitted and you can find those forms and instructions at the following website: http://outreach.science.tamu.edu/tso/2008/state_team_forms.php
Question: What are the parameters for state qualifications.
Answer: Qualification for State is through a Regional tournament.
Question: Do we have to have the same team members as at the Regional tournament?
Answer: No - you pick which 15 team members you want to bring.
Question: Do individuals advance to state or just full teams?
Answer: Full Teams
Question: Is the trial event, Thinking Globally, required?
Answer: No, it is an optional event for fun and does not count in the overall scoring.
Question: Can substitute members participate in the trial event, Thinking Globally?
Answer: Yes, substitute members that are listed on the team member list and that State receives all required forms for may participate in the trial event. |
